The hillside location of Kauai Banyan Inn affords sweeping panoramic mountain and distant ocean views from most of our private suites. Enjoy the cool clean air, lush landscapes and bird’s eye view from this private estate set on an acre of rural hillside in Lawai, surrounded by miles of pasture land. Lawai is located directly “upcountry” from sunny Poipu Beach on Kauai’s South Shore, where it’s just a short 5-minute drive to world famous white sand beaches, golf, shopping, and dining.

Leaving the Lihue Airport, go to 2nd stoplight and turn left onto Highway 50 (you will see Kentucky Fried Chicken in front of you). Follow the signs towards Poipu/Waimea on Highway 50. In about 6 to 7 miles you will come to a Marker for Hwy 50 and Hwy 520, continue straight on Hwy 50 for another 3 miles where you will come to a traffic signal at Koloa Road (Hwy 530), just before a cement bridge. Turn left onto and follow Koloa Road for approx. 1 & 2/10ths mile, a street sign to your left will read Mana Hema Pl. turn left a Mana Hema Pl. A sign on the right reads DEAD END–proceed straight to the guard rail and the NO OUTLET sign and turn left (this puts you on the cement private driveway to Kauai Banyan).
Kauai Banyan’s driveway is like a roller coaster. We ask that our guests adhere to the slow speed signs posted along the drive. Make a horseshoe turn to the right and follow the drive downhill, you will see a house numbered 3528 A on your right, pass this house and continue up the hill, passing another house on your right at the top of the hill numbered 3525. After passing 3525, you will drive down a slight incline and there you will see the numbers for Kauai Banyan–3528 B–this is where you will make the sharp right turn onto the Kauai Banyan driveway.
Early & Late Check-Ins
If you will be arriving early in the day and wish to store your luggage at Kauai Banyan before your scheduled check-in time of 4 pm, please call us at (808) 645-6527 and we will let you know if your unit will be available earlier than 4 pm or where your luggage may be stored. If you arrive late in the evening and need further directions, please call us. Our neighbors retire early and prefer not to be disturbed. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
